Jamil Bullata FCA (Hon. Treasurer)

Jamil Bullata is a Chartered Accountant and has been a Fellow Member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales since 1970.

He was born and educated in Jerusalem where he graduated and started his teaching career in 1954, with special emphasis on foreign languages – he is fluent in Arabic, English, French and German. In 1964 he left Jerusalem for the UK. In 1970, he qualified as a Chartered Accountant after a period of training and articleship with Ross, Jones & Co in Cardiff. In 1971 he moved to Deloittee Haskins and Sell, presently part of Price Waterhouse Coopers. His fluency in foreign languages led to international assignments to the Paris office in 1972 and 1973, to the Zurich office in 1974 and to Saudi Arabia, Libya, Jordan and Egypt between 1975 and 1979. In 1979 he transferred to the Saudi Arabian practice of Deloitte Haskins & Sells and in 1982 became a partner of the company, remaining so until he took early retirement in 1992 and moved back to London with his wife and two children.

In his retirement, Mr Bullata continues to be as active, serving as Honorary Treasurer and board member of a number of U.K. registered charities/organisations which include Action Around Bethlehem, Children with Disability (ABCD); Friends of Birzeit University (FoBZU); Rediscovering Palestine; Legal Assistance for Palestinians Trust; The Living Stones of the Holy Land Trust; The Antiochian Orthodox Church in the City of London, British Arabs Association and Arab Media Watch.
