During the meeting of the Book Club on 19 April, 2012, Selma Dabbagh’s Out of It was selected as the second book for discussion. This is her first novel and it moves between Palestine, the Gulf, and London, opening in Gaza during the early years of the second Intifada. It follows the life of a Palestinian family, as each member attempts to create a life for themselves in the midst of occupation, religious fundamentalism, and political divisions. Selma Dabbagh is a Palestinian-British author based in London.
