A Talk By Mark Evans

Mark Evans will talk about explorer Bertram Thomas crossing the Rub Al Khali, or Empty Quarter, the largest sand desert on earth. Today, 80 years on, Rub Al Khali is emptier than it has ever been, and the Bedouin people have evolved and adapted their lives to make the most of new opportunities.

Mark Evans, MBE, fellow of the Explorers Club of New York and General Manager of Outward Bound in Oman takes us on a 28 day journey of discovery through the Rub Al Khali in Oman on the trail of the great desert explorers.
