A Sagia Initiative in partnership with Edge of Arabia and Offscreen:
CREATE AND INSPIRE
DISCUSSION: 14:00 - 15:45 | CELEBRATION 16:00 - 18:00

Offscreen and Edge of Arabia, in collaboration with the Mayor of London's Shubbak Festival and the Saudi Arabian General Investment Authority, invite you to a special event exploring and celebrating the work of young Saudi artists in the UK.
This will complement the simultaneous launch of an exhibition on the ground floor of City Hall put together by 8 young Saudi artists whose recent journey to the UK focuses on collaborations with London's thriving creative industries.
Can creativity succeed where the media fails?
The discussion will focus on the role that creativity plays in challenging stereotypes and providing a wider view between the UK and Arab World. Opening the discussion will be Abdelnasser Gharem, a pioneering Saudi artist whose piece Message/Messenger recently became the highest-selling contemporary work of any living Arab artist (the proceeds of which he donated to support the development of arts education in Saudi Arabia).
Discussion: 14:00 - 15:45
Guest Speaker: Abdelnasser Gharem
Venue: Assembly Chamber, City Hall, London SE1 2AA
