CONCERT FOR PEACE & PROSPERITY: EASTERN VOICES, WESTERN ECHOES
Join tenor Dennis O'Neill and a host of leading young Middle Eastern and Western operatic talent for an inspirational evening of music from the Western and Arabic Worlds.
Accompanied by Orion, the Orchestra of Rising Stars, the programme features excerpts by Verdi, Bizet, Rossini, Puccini, Handel and Donizetti, in addition to fine works from the classical Arabic repertoire. Plus the premiere of a classical, contemporary work by young Lebanese composer Bushra El-Turk (pictured). 'Of Laughter and Forgetting' is written for piano and orchestra (which includes the nai and qanoun) with Tala Tutunji on the piano.
The evening is presented by the Peace and Prosperity Trust to raise funds for the ‘Patient Relief Fund’ for St John's Eye Hospital in Jerusalem, and to promote aspiring young artists.
