Banipal presents:

AN EVENING OF EMIRATI MODERNIST POETRY

At the London Literature Festival

Khalid Albudoor, Khulood al-Mualla and Nujoom al-Ghanem are poets at the forefront of a modernist movement reinventing poetry in the United Arab Emirates, featuring free verse, prose poetry and texts that break boundaries of form and image. They challenge the literary conventions of traditional Arabic poetry, while reflecting on their experiences of change and time, love and loss, as modern 21st-century Emiratis. There will be an opportunity to ask questions at the end of the reading.

Copies of Banipal 38, with specially commissioned translations of the poets works, will be on sale, autographed by the poets.
