A GLIMPSE AT ARAB CONTEMPORARY CHOREOGRAPHY

Two performances by two widely acclaimed dancers: Radhouane El Meddeb's – 'I Dance and I feed you with it' and Nacera Belaza's 'The Scream'.

Radhouane is Tunisian and, seated before a couscous maker, he prepares couscous and dance with all the grandeur, generosity and poetry of these two arts.

Nacera Belaza from Algeria's performance of Le Cri (The Scream), won a 'Choreographic revelation of the Year' award from French critics in 2008.

Both artists also take part in a free debate discussing Preconception and Identity in the Arab World on Saturday 23 July at 4pm (free, booking required on 0844 412 4300)

Part of Shubbak: A Window on Contemporary Arab Culture, a festival presented by the Mayor of London, from 4-24 July 2011.
