Mosaïques 2010

12th Festival of World Culture

Featuring a host of UK Premieres, preview screenings, director Q&As, talks, workshops and music, this year's 12th edition of Mosaïques Festival of World Culture promises an explosive programme. Presenting films from over 15 countries, this year's programme takes us on a journey from Morocco, Algeria, Lebanon and Iraq to Rwanda, Mali, Cambodia and Brazil. Offering audiences a selection of the most outstanding new World Cinema, Mosaïques continues to engage leading directors, along with thought-provoking writers, who bring a diverse range of cultures closer to home.

Highlights from the Arab world include Whisper with the Wind (Iraq) and Everyday is a Holiday (Lebanon). Mosaïques takes to the biggest screen in Britain with a preview screening of Journey to Mecca at the BFI IMAX on 4th June. Its making of, Roads to Mecca reveals how the Hajj was captured on film for the first time ever and will be followed by a Q&A with the creative team at Ciné lumière. Guests in attendance include Nour-Eddine Lakhmari, director of Casanegra (Morocco) and Algerian author Boualem Sansal.
