WHAT IS ARAB ART? WHAT IS ITS PURPOSE? WHAT IS ITS ROLE IN AN INTERNATIONAL CONTEXT?
Drawing from themes featured in the exhibition A Patch on My Evil Eye (5 - 26 May at the Arab British Centre Gallery), this panel discussion aims to examine the role of artists, galleries, institutions and other market players in creating, promoting and defining Arab art in Britain.
Artists Yazan Khalili and Ruba Asfahani will join curator Juan Carlos Farah. The discussion will be hosted and moderated by renowned photographer and filmmaker Saeed Taji Farouky.
