The Southbank Centre presents:

RAJA SHEHADEH

Raja Shehadeh's new book, A Rift in Time, is a historical memoir about the political struggles of his great uncle Najib - a man who dedicated his life to the freedom of the Palestinian people. Retracing Najib's footsteps, Raja discovers that today, despite the cage that Palestine has become, it is still possible to look towards a better future.

Raja Shehadeh is one of Palestine's leading writers. This event includes discussion about life in the West Bank, audience questions and the exclusive screening of extracts from The Writer and the Flautist, a new film by Luke and John Tchalenko based on Raja's previous book, Palestinian Walks.

Ticket holders are also invited to a full-length screening of the film after the event.

The evening is chaired by Andrew Franklin.
