From their rise to power in the early eighteenth century until their demise as a political force in the second part of the twentieth century, The Rise and Fall of a Palestinian Dynasty chronicles the trials and tribulations of the family as it lived through major events such as the invasion of Palestine by Napoleon, the decline of the Ottoman Empire, the Great War, western colonialism and Zionism. This is the story of Palestine as seen from the vantage point of a Jerusalemite family of notables.
