SARHA: WORK IN JERUSALEM & NABLUS

gd-jpeg v1.0 (using IJG JPEG v62), quality = 90‘A man going on a sarha wanders aimlessly, not restricted by time and place, going where his spirit takes him to nourish his soul and rejuvenate himself. But not any excursion would qualify as a sarha. Going on a sarha implies letting go. It is a drug free high, Palestinian style’  Raja Shehadeh

The exhibition presents work on a master plan for a new Palestinian community in Jerusalem carried out by Pie in summer 2011, and Studio 9’s initial investigations into Nablus as part of their recent study trip. Both bodies of work demonstrate a concern with careful investigation of the existing context, and a desire to discover and explore the disappearing and the overlooked.
