Bazaar and Gala
To mark the one-year anniversary of the uprising in Syria, and as part of the Reel Syria 2012 festival showcasing Syrian artists, Mosaic Initiative for Syria presents a special series of events in aid of the communities affected by the humanitarian crisis in Syria.
Highlights during the day include a Syrian-style bazaar, where you can sample traditional food from the region, then take the opportunity to watch a series of short Syrian films.
Evening highlights include a performance by the world-renowned Syrian composer, singer and poet, Samih Choukeir, as well as a performance by Khyam Allami on the oud. There will also be an audience with Ali Farzat, the celebrated Syrian political cartoonist.
All proceeds from this event will benefit the communities affected by the current humanitarian crisis in Syria.
