Book Launch of “Tiger and Clay – Syria Fragments”

1 August '17 at 7:00 pm to 10:00 pm

“Tiger and Clay” is a haunting collection of poetry and memoir by Rana Abdul Fattah – a young Syrian woman, writing in exile in Istanbul. Her book deals with how it feels to be a refugee and unable to return home. Recent reviews include one by Sandra Fluck that you can read here and one by Malu Halasa taht you can read here. Rana’s book will be on sale at the special launch price of £8.00.

Rana can’t travel outside Turkey so her publisher, Palewell Press, is organising the launch and she will participate over Skype. There will also be a brief talk by the experimental film-maker Juan delGado about the work of Qisetna: Syria Talking. Meze will be served by The Damascus Chef and we will have Syrian music playing in the background.
