Friday Hangout: MENA Arts UK Takeover #2 with Abi Zakarian

19 February '21 at 1:00 pm to 2:00 pm

Our Friday Hangouts are back! But this time, we’re handing over the reins to our friends at MENA Arts UK…

We are so delighted to announce the return of our Friday Hangout talk series, this time in partnership with MENA Arts UK. This “Hangout Takeover” will focus on platforming MENA+ (Middle East, North Africa and surrounding area) professionals working in the live and recorded arts, inviting guests to discuss their work and answer live questions from the public in an informal setting via Zoom.

The second Takeover guest is Abi Zakarian, an award-winning British-Armenian writer whose plays include Perfect Myth Allegory, produced by Jermyn Street Theatre; I am Karyan Ophidian, produced by Shakespeare’s Globe Theatre; and Fabric, produced by Tremers for Edinburgh Fringe Festival 2016, winning a Fringe First Award.

Abi will be chatting with actor Jessie Bedrossian. Jessie and Abi first met when Jessie performed the role of Karyan in Abi’s one woman Armenian play I am Karyan Ophidian. The play was performed at the Sam Wanamaker Playhouse in October and streamed globally online. They continue to stay in touch and are excited about future collaborations.

Register on Zoom to join the conversation!
