Arab British Centre statement on far-right riots in UK 7.8.24

09 August '24

We at the Arab British Centre are appalled by the far-right riots and associated acts of terror, hate speech, and intimidation towards Muslims, people of colour, migrants and those seeking refuge in the UK.

We stand in solidarity with all the communities affected by this violence and all who are united against attempts to sow division and discord through racism and Islamophobia. As an organisation which promotes understanding through art, education and community-building, we know that our strength as a society lies both in the diversity and universality of our lived experiences, cultures and skills.

Unity is power and together we can and will oppose hate.

We will be sharing resources for looking after yourselves and each other over the coming days on our social media. See below for some resources around reporting hate crimes, mental health and safety services.
