Shubbak takes over the Friday Late at V&A South Kensington.
For fifteen years, Shubbak has celebrated the contemporary art of Arab and SWANA artists in all its creativity, complexity and power.
To mark this anniversary, Shubbak brings together artists whose practices explore the body as a site of wisdom, resistance, craft-making, sense-making, knowledge, trauma, healing, restriction and joy. Through multi-sensorial artistic encounters, they invite us to experience the corporeal, the sensorial and the somatic as spaces where histories are held and expressed, where lived realities are critically examined, and where new possibilities can be imagined.
Across performances, installations, music, food and collective experiences, the evening unfolds through works that stretch across time, geographies and realms, constructing alternative narratives that reach beyond the present moment.
Join us for a special Friday Late co-curated with the V&A South Kensington as we mark fifteen years of Shubbak.
