Let us get together to witness the performance of Palestinian improv and jazz musician and sound artist Dirar Kalash whose work spans a wide range of musical and sonic practices within a variety of instrumental, compositional and improvisational contexts. He is mostly known for his politically driven soundscape / electro-acoustic project “The Sonic Front”,
The event takes place this Saturday 28th September at Total Refreshment Center with a unique line-up of boundary-pushing musicians: vocalist Amirtha Kidambi (NYC), guitarist Dirar Kalash (Palestine), Saint Abdullah (NYC/London) on sampler and electronics, and London-based musicians Alabaster DePlume (tenor sax), Dan Nicholls (synthesizer), and Momoko Gill (drums).
Beyond their musical and personal ties, these stellar artists intersect in improvisation, jazz, electronics and noise, in the tradition of liberation music, using their art to advocate for a Free Palestine.
This collective of sonic activists brings together deep-rooted global connections.
