An inspiring and informative study day exploring several aspects of ‘The Arab Hall: Past and Present’ at Leighton House – the first major exploration of the iconic interior which brings together Islamic, Mediterranean and Victorian craft traditions.
From an exploration of some of the more unusual tiles decorating this iconic room and new readings of their calligraphy inscriptions, to how contemporary filmmakers and artists have reinterpreted the space through their work.
Community Jameel will also join the Study Day and present their work in the traditional arts through the Jameel Houses of Traditional Arts in Cairo, Jeddah and Scotland.
