Home in Aleppo: Memory, Loss and Rebuild is a moving exploration of displacement, identity, and the fragile process of rebuilding after loss. Drawing on personal experience, Zahed Tajeddin, a Syrian artist and sculptor, reflects on the layered memories of Aleppo, exploring what is carried forward, what is left behind, and how home can be reimagined in the aftermath of upheaval. Blending storytelling with critical insight, the event offers a deeply human perspective on resilience, belonging, and the enduring ties between place and memory.

About Dr Zahed Taj-Eddin

Dr. Zahed Taj-Eddin (b. 1965, Aleppo) is an archaeologist and a sculptor. He studied Fine Art at FM College of Fine Art in Aleppo, earned a BSc in Applied Chemistry at the University of Aleppo, an MA in Artefact Studies from UCL’s Institute of Archaeology, and later a PhD at the University of Westminster, London, where his research focused on ancient Egyptian faience technologies.
