An Architecture of Disappearance

2 December '21 at 7:00 pm to 9:00 pm

Jameel Prize nominee Sofia Karim presents architectural models and drawings illustrating the cases of political prisoners in India and Bangladesh who she campaigns for. Her project An Architecture of Disappearance evolved after the incarceration of her uncle (photographer and activist Shahidul Alam). This inspired her to use architecture as a medium to explore fascism and authoritarianism. Learn how she explores architecture as a language of struggle and resistance, and re-examines its ideals, through the framework of her human rights work.
