Anamorphosis – online book launch

20 January '21 at 1:00 pm to 2:30 pm

In 2019 Praneet Soi traveled across the Occupied Palestinian Territories and Israel. The art works he created in response were exhibited at The Mosaic Rooms London. This event launches Soi’s new book Anamorphosis which was born of the project. Soi has invited thinkers involved in education, art and dialogues around social change who influenced him and his work in response to his time there to join this special event.

Educationalist Munir Fasheh will articulate his concept of the Mujaawarah, which proposes that literacy and knowledge resides within individuals and community. Curator Yazid Anani will unpack the problematics of representations of the West Bank. Reem Fadda, Director of the Abu Dhabi Cultural Foundation will reflect on her curatorial experiences in the Emirates, Morocco and Palestine. Charles Esche, Director of the Van Abbe Museum where Soi’s work is currently on show, will talk about steering the museum to explore narratives around decolonization. Soi will discuss the design with the book’s designer Michael Kelly, of Fraser Muggeridge Studio. Followed by an audience discussion led by curator Angelina Radakovic.
