Converging Paths: Joseph Tawadros – The Art of the Oud

19 March '19 at 6:45 pm to 9:00 pm

Join us at Asia House for an unforgettable evening in which traditional Arabic music meets jazz and folk in this celebration of the evocative voice of the oud—the ancient Middle-Eastern lute. Aged only 34, Joseph Tawadros is a world leading oud player and composer. A virtuoso of diversity and sensitivity, he has performed on the world’s top concert platforms, and made his debut at the BBC Symphony Orchestra at the BBC Proms Dubai in 2017, and a solo oud recital with original music for the BBC Proms at London’s Cadogan Hall. The solo performance will feature improvisations and own music by the artist, along more familiar and traditional pieces.

This event is organised in collaboration with Asia House, and is part of the series Converging Paths, organised in partnership with The Barakat Trust.
