Join Palestinian improv and jazz musician and sound artist Dirar Kalash and his friends on this Sonic Front night. Dirar Kalash, whose work spans a wide range of musical and sonic practices within a variety of instrumental, compositional and improvisational context is mostly known for his politically driven soundscape / electro-acoustic project “The Sonic Front”,
Dirar will be joined by surprise guests to form an electric free jazz ensemble, performing electro-acoustic pieces with recent sounds from Palestine and Lebanon including esteemed composer and musician Jaar, Max Hallett best known for drumming in the trio The Comet Is Coming alongside bandmates Shabaka Hutchings on saxophone, virtuoso John Edwards on bass and Karagoz (Yamen Makdad and Tasos Stamou) who will playing a DJ set.
The Sonic Front is a sonic get-together to protest the ongoing massacres, encompassing all of Palestine, Yemen, Syria and Lebanon.
