From the Nile to the Table

17 June '26 at 6:30 pm to 9:00 pm

What did ancient Egyptians eat? From the Nile to the Table is an intimate dinner at the Egypt Exploration Society where ancient and contemporary Egyptian cuisine share a table. Chef Seif El Sobky has drawn on historical and archaeological research to reconstruct dishes and flavours that predate the modern era, tracing the ingredients, techniques, and tastes of a civilisation thousands of years in the making. Each course is woven together by a Hekayyatna storytelling thread connecting what’s on the plate to its history, geography, and culture.
