Limbs of the Lunar Disc headed to the Liverpool Arab Arts Festival!
This performance lecture was given by Sarah Al-Sarraj.
In a spaceship hurtling through time, we explored non-Western conceptions of space and time through quantum physics, liberation theory, Black Quantum Futurism, and the scholar Jackie Wang.
Sarah Al-Sarraj is a visual artist and cultural worker. Her practice centres on worldbuilding as a creative and critical process, where painting and immersive technologies are understood as portals to other worlds.
Limbs of the Lunar Disc was co-commissioned by the Arab British Centre and Shubbak Festival, featuring works commissioned by the Mechatronic Library. Curated by Jessica El Mal as part of As We Are, Might Have Been and Could Be, and hosted at The World Museum. Supported by Arts Council England and Freelands Foundation.
Limbs of the Lunar Disc: Isthmus Ancient River will run from 11-20th July 2025 at the World Museum in Liverpool. The museum is open Tuesday through Sunday 10:00 am-5:00 pm.
The exhibition, part of the Liverpool Arab Arts Festival 2025, is free to visit and had an accompanying events programme.
