Lyd: Charity Screening and Directors Q&A

26 February '24 at 6:00 pm to 9:00 pm

The Galilee Foundation are delighted to be hosting a one-off cinema screening of the film Lyd by acclaimed Palestinian film maker, writer and journalist Rami Younis, and New York based documentary filmmaker and media artist Sarah Ema Friedland.

Lyd is the story of a city that once connected Palestine to the world — what it once was, what it is now, and what it could have become. A sci-fi documentary that follows the rise and fall of Lyd – a 5000 year old metropolis that was once a bustling Palestinian town until it was conquered when the State of Israel was established in 1948. As the film unfolds, a chorus of characters creates a tapestry of the Palestinian experience of this city and the trauma left by the massacre and expulsion.

This cinema screening offers attendees the chance to take part in an exclusive Q&A session with the directors themselves, and all donations will go towards supporting disadvantaged Palestinian students to empower them through education and community.
