Our upcoming auction Modern & Contemporary Middle Eastern & North African Art on Thursday, 22nd April 2021 at 10:30 am. The sale features a selection of artworks dating from the 20th century up until the present day including paintings, photography, prints and sculpture from the broader Arab world, Iran and North Africa as well as works by diaspora artists.

A highlight among the artworks is La danse (or Femme aux instruments de musique) by Baya (Algerian, 1931 – 1998), an iconic work featuring a female musician, inspired by her childhood memories from Algeria (lot 17 – £7,000 – £9,000. Other works in the sale include an early work by the Lebanese / American artist Saliba Douaihy (lot 12 – £7,000 – 10,000) and a selection of Egyptian, Tunisian, Iraqi, Lebanese, Syrian, and Saudi works (amongst others).
