6 February '25 at 1:00 pm to 2:30 pm

Leighton House and Sambourne House have partnered with RBKC Libraries as part of the ‘Warm Welcome Spaces’ campaign.

Join our free guided stitching circles at Kensington Central Library for a chance to chat, learn, relax and connect with fellow stitchers. Bring your own project or make use of the materials provided.

Sessions are free and open to everyone – even if you’ve never picked up a needle before! Hot drinks provided.

‘Our Garden’
A co-created community textile piece on display at Kensington Central Library from November 2024 – March 2025.

‘Our Garden’ was produced by British-Lebanese artist Nour Hage together with eight co-creators from the local community over five workshops held at Leighton House in January 2023. The project and resulting exhibition was called Kheit خيط (meaning thread in Arabic), and was part of a collaboration between Leighton House, The Arab British Centre and The Barakat Trust that continues to this day. The free guided Stitching Circles are led by three of the original co-creators, alongside the Leighton House Learning and Public Programme team and Library colleagues.
