An evening of works by Vivaldi, Handel, Attia Sharara and others, performed by Laura Virtanen (Violin), Wessam Amin (Oboe) and Marko Hilpo (Piano). ‘The Finnish-Arabian Encounters’ concert series has taken the trio Laura Virtanen, Wessam Amin and Marko Hilpo to Finland, Egypt and the UK to perform ten concerts in venues such as Alexandria Bibliotheca, Cairo Opera House, Turku Art Gallery and the Balder’s Hall in Helsinki. The final concert of the series will take place in the Burgh House in London. The concerts in major cities as well as small towns in these three countries have been met with great enthusiasm and interest. With the support of the Arts Promotion Centre Finland it has been possible to bring together these musicians from Finland and Egypt and present a programme of western classical music mixed with some oriental flavour.
