Iyad Sughayer Piano Recital: From Mozart to Khachaturian via Liszt

22 February '20 at 7:30 pm to 9:00 pm

On the brink of a brilliant international career, award winning concert pianist Iyad Sughayer performs works from his debut album on BIS Records of solo works by Aram Khachaturian.

Speaking of his attraction to the music of Khachaturian, Iyad says:
“It seems so close to my own roots – to my people’s folk music. There is an oriental, improvisatory element that I love in Khachaturian, the rhythms and harmonies are especially attractive.”

This concert is generously given by Iyad in support of the music charity PalMusic UK. Iyad says,
“I would never have got to where I am without the huge help and support from countless individuals in my life. The only way I can pay those people back is by doing the same for others.”

PalMusic UK (Friends of Edward Said National Conservatory of Music) works to nurture the musical talent of young Palestinians, primarily in Palestine.
