Meet our SAFAR 2020 curator: Rabih El-Khoury

04 March '20

We’re delighted to tell you that we have appointed Rabih El-Khoury as the curator for the SAFAR Film Festival 2020, following an open call last year.

Rabih holds a Bachelor of Arts in Journalism from the Lebanese American University in Beirut and a Masters of Arts in Creative and Cultural Entrepreneurship from Goldsmiths University here in London, where he was studying when he attended the first SAFAR back in 2012! He has been working with the Metropolis Association, which manages Metropolis Art Cinema, the only art house cinema in Lebanon, since its inception in 2006 as administrator and then as Managing Director. He has also worked for the cultural association Beirut DC for the promotion of Arab Cinema as general coordinator for its Arab film festival The Beirut Cinema Days since 2006. He has organized over 20 Arab film weeks in the Arab World and Europe.

We’re very excited to work with Rabih on what we plan to be the biggest and best edition of SAFAR yet! Stay tuned for more announcements over the coming weeks, including the dates in September, our screening partners, and of course, the theme for this year’s festival!
