WANT YOUR DESIGN ON OUR POSTCARD?

25 April '14

The Arab British Centre are giving away the chance for two designers, from anywhere in the world, to have their work printed on our brand-new postcards!

All you need to do is read through our guidelines below, and get designing!

Our postcards are always available (for free) to visitors at our Centre, but as well as this but as well as this we display them at our partners venues such as Foyles, ICA, Barbican, Ritzy, etc. This is a great chance for any upcoming or even established designer to get their work out there!

We are rebranding and have our sights set on FIVE new designs for our postcards. This competition is open to TWO winners who will be chosen by the Executive Team here at the Arab British Centre.

THREE of the designs have been specially commissioned by us from Danah Abdulla of Kalimat Magazine, Joumana Medlej and Karma Hamady and we’re grateful for their hard-work and kindness in working with us to develop our brand!

DEADLINE IS MIDNIGHT ON SATURDAY 31ST MAY 2014

Guidelines:

* Focus on what the Arab British Centre represents as a charitable institution. Click here for more info about us.

* Think about how Arab culture is a big part of what we believe in, but this can be in any facet: music, visual art, food, film, literature, dance, etc.

* The size of the postcard will be 15cm across by 10.5cm height, so don’t be overly detailed! It will get lost in the printing process!

* Only send us a low-resolution version of the design for now, once we have selected the winners, we will get in touch for the high-resolution design.

* You MUST incorporate our logo somewhere on the design! You can find this quite easily through Google but if you want different options, contact us!

* Don’t forget, the Arab British Centre is a non-religious, non-political organisation, any design that doesn’t fit in with these ideals will not be considered.

* All copyright of any images used in the design must belong to YOU. Please do not use images you have found online unless you have already got permission to use them. We will be checking!

* You can choose either portrait or landscape orientation, we trust your judgements!

* Lastly, have fun with it! Use anything you like, but be creative! We are looking for something that is contemporary, eye-catching and timeless!

All applications and queries to be sent to info@arabbritishcentre.org.uk or call on +4420 7832 1310

Spread the word!

The two winners and ten lucky runners-up will win a copy of A Future of a Promise, the catalogue of the first pan-Arab exhibition at the Venice Biennale, 2011. Kindly donated by Ibraaz.
