Join us for an interactive workshop and talk exploring the rich culture of Arabic contemporary art, design and calligraphy

Session 1: 18:00 – 19:30 – «Understanding Through Experimental Image-making»

A workshop that explores how we can utilise the process of design to break down stereotypes, build bridges, and allow it to create new collective narratives through experimental image-making.

Led by Salem Al-Qassimi

Salem is the founder and Principal of Fikra
and Assistant Professor of Design at American University of Sharjah.

Session 2: 20:00 – 21:00 – «Proportions»

This talk will take us through a journey to explore the subject of proportions starting from the human body to its fundamental relation to, and influence on, art and architecture

Led by Taha Al-Hiti

Taha is a renowned British-Iraqi Architect and Calligrapher, and the head of the International Association of Arabic Calligraphy and Islamic Illumination in the UK.
