Lazinc is proud to present a solo exhibition by Tunisian-French artist eL Seed. Opening in January the exhibition will celebrate Lazinc’s first anniversary at 29 Sackville Street and the artist’s first solo presentation in the UK.

Tabula Rasa will delve into and unravel the symbolic quality of language, by directly engaging with words and their embodied meanings. Mixing the highly stylised Arabic script with an unfinished aesthetic, eL Seed aims to pry letters from their history, and to attempt to begin again without preconception. His paintings explore the curvature of the language, while masking its complete legibility, thereby interrupting assumption and prompting the audience to investigate language in a new way.

eL Seed aims to not simply look to the inferences of words but also how language circulates on a global scale, and specifically how the Arabic language has become wrought with contention. In addition to exhibiting in galleries and institutions, the artist continues to use public spaces as a way to engage audiences all over the world.
