Inclusive MENA+ Stories for Children

7 October '21 at 10:00 am to 12:00 pm

Led by award-winning Syrian children’s author and illustrator Nadine Kaadan, this workshop will explore telling authentic MENA children’s stories.
In the first half of the workshop you will learn about Nadine’s experience writing and publishing children’s books in both English and Arabic, as well as the differences and challenges both publishing markets present. You will explore what she has learned about diversity and inclusivity in children’s stories and what is happening in the industry. The second half of the workshop will allow you to delve into exploring your own ideas, with writing and illustration tips and guidance from Nadine. Please bring your own pen and paper.
These workshops are only available to directory members. If you do not have a profile already, please create one on our website in order to book yourself into workshops.
Because there is limited space in each workshop, you can only register for up to 3 workshops. However, this doesn’t include the four “Creative Huddles” and “Writing a Successful Arts Council Application”. This means you can attend up to 8 workshops in total.
