Lifta share artworks and events on the theme of their new publication Future Palestine in this takeover of The Mosaic Rooms’ Instagram.

Future Palestine (2019) is a multilingual book of imaginative works. It features emerging and award-winning writers, poets, architects, curators, researchers and artists from Palestine and its diaspora. Through the takeover Lifta will show the contributors’ reflections on the things that bind Palestine to Palestinians, touching on time, land, exile, nationhoods, falsehoods, things lost, found and held onto, ideals of return and for those that remained, ideals of exit. Their works connected with themes including mental health, sci-fi, architecture, archaeology, return, classism, gender issues and nationalism.

The takeover includes live conversations and activities with artist Mima Bamieh – Palestine Food Hosting Society, Camil Karam – Yahala Studio, director Reem Jubran, artist and chef Ammany Ahmad, artist and conservationist Vivien Sansour – Palestine Heirloom Seed Library, artist and publisher Ala Younis, DJs Lorisms and Makkimakuk, archivist and activist Orsod Al-Malik – CodeSwitch and designer Siko Tatour – Mooni Studio.
