Internal Landscapes Exhibition

12 November '22 at 10:00 am - 5 March '23 at 5:00 pm

Internal Landscapes is a collective art exhibition curated and produced by Dima Karout in partnership with the Horniman Museum and Gardens. Part of We Are Lewisham, the Mayor’s London Borough of Culture 2022.

“Internal Landscapes is a creative investigation into meaningful places in Lewisham, and how they inspire and shape its people.

In my creative research, I invited local people to a series of curated conversations. We explored how the places we inhabit imprint themselves on our personal and collective identities, and revealed an emotional map of Lewisham.

This exhibition and art book are the results of my different encounters. It is a glimpse into moments we shared and the internal and external landscapes we discovered.

Over 100 voices and perspectives shaped this outcome. They informed this positive narrative of a place at a moment in time, and the people who contribute to its social fabric with all its textures. I hope you sit with these prints, sketches, stories, places, people, and get inspired by them. I did, greatly.”

Dima Karout has 20 years international experience in designing and producing socially engaged art projects, publications and learning programmes.
