London’s Theatre of The East: Women Writing Back

Join us at a special London’s Theatre of The East event exploring the significance of ‘women writing women’ – from 18th- century travel writers fiercely responding to representations of ‘The East’, to 21st – century retellings of Johnson’s play Irene, and the landmark events that inspired it.

Featuring London’s Theatre of The East contributors, author Saeida Rouass and playwright Hannah Khalil, and Professor Ros Ballaster, academic advisor on the LToTE project and specialist in women’s writing from the University of Oxford.

Tickets are £7/£4 and include a complimentary glass of wine or soft drink. Doors open 6:30pm, talk starts at 7pm.
