LSFF 2020: Recollective Resistance: Parts 1 + 2 with Kamal Aljafari Q&A

The London Short Film Festival are putting on a two-part screening of the work of experimental Palestinian filmmaker Kamal Aljafari, whose work documents the erasure of Palestinian lives in occupied territories. The screenings, under the banner of Recollective Resistance, will be taking place on Sunday the 19th of January at the Regent Street Cinema and Aljafari will be joining in conversation with guest programmer Faye Harvey after both. Available at the event will be a free zine featuring contributions from activists, writers and filmmakers reflecting on systematic erasure, colonial violence, and the interactions between memory and resistance in historical and present day Palestine.

Recollective Resistance Part 1 – 4:30pm
Kamal Aljafari’s hybrid documentary follows the story of his family after they receive an order from the Israeli government to evacuate their home. 60′

Recollective Resistance Part 2: 6:30pm
Kamal Aljafari’s experimental work, Recollection, bears witness to the destruction, repopulation, and gentrification of Jaffa. 70′
