LSO Eclectica: Birdsong & Borders with Merit Ariane

5 July '19 at 7:30 pm to 9:30 pm

Singer and composer Merit Ariane fuses mesmerising electronics, Arabic music and poetry in Birdsong & Borders. Weaving a tapestry of new and traditional music, the performance is inspired by the transition from dusk through night to dawn, culminating in an exuberant dawn chorus, a joyful outpouring of sound

‘Birds are free. They traverse boundaries, real or imaginary, linking the realms of the living and dead, magic and reality, nature and art. As more borders are built, birds represent what deeply connects us as humans, our childhood dreams and longing to be free and soar.’
