To exchange means the act of giving one thing and receiving another, but what more can be gained when the exchange is rooted in culture and creativity?
Join the Arab British Centre and the eight emerging artists from their Making Marks Kuwait-UK exchange in a discussion about the creative potential of exchange programmes for early-career artists. They’ll explore the new work that they have created in response to their experiences, before considering the wider impacts of exchange on emerging artists both professionally and personally.
This talk is part of the Arab British Centre’s Making Marks programme, in partnership with the British Council, which focuses on creative exchange between artists aged 18-30 in the UK and the Arab world.
Speakers: Emii Alrai, Sarah Ismail Alsayed, Sheikha Al Habshi, Ben Malcolmson, Faye Al-Mansour, Staneslas, Katherine Midgley and Sian Rees Astley.
Capacity: up to 100 people on Zoom. The session will also be recorded and hosted on the Arab British Centre website and Youtube channel at a later date.
