Music from North Africa

20 July '24 at 3:00 pm to 4:00 pm

The African Concert Series presents “Music from North Africa”, a musical kaleidoscope from Egypt, Algeria, Morocco and Sudan featuring songs with Master of RAI music, Abdelkader Saadoun on mandola, piano music with acclaimed pianist Rebeca Omordia and music for strings with Ubuntu Ensemble.

The world’s first ever African Concert Series has established itself as a fixed spot on the London Concert scene. The series was inspired and created in 2019 by the distinguished pianist Rebeca Omordia and ever since has attracted a great following. In Rebeca’s own words ‘Bringing African classical music to a western audience was from the start an endeavour meant to unravel the cultural diversity of the African continent, and to create a platform for African classical music to be performed”.
