A moving and chilling documentary, On Her Shoulders follows 2018 Nobel Peace Prize winner and UN Goodwill Ambassador Nadia Murad as she campaigns to free the Northern Iraq Yazidi people, after herself surviving the genocide and sexual slavery committed by ISIS.
A portrait of a young woman who has faced atrocities and extreme trauma, and yet still finds the strength to speak up, On Her Shoulders is a powerful film that demonstrates the importance of seeking justice against those who commit the worst acts against humanity.
Local charity Yalla Hub will be hosting a post-film reflection circle opening up conversations about changes we can make as a society in helping to champion migrant women in our communities.
