Arts Canteen, in association with the Liverpool Arab Arts Festival, present an exceptional evening of classics and fusion with renowned Palestinian-Danish percussionist Simona Abdallah. Simona will be moving between each piece in an energetic manner unlike any usual beats you’ve heard before! A live DJ will also be playing the warm-up set which will raise energy levels to the roof.

Percussionist Simona Abdallah was born in Germany in 1979. A few years later, her family moved to Denmark where Simona spent her childhood in the windy port town of Aarhus.

Simona Abdallah plays Arabic percussion, primarily the Darbuka – a goblet-shaped drum. She fuses her ancestral Arabic rhythms with House, Electronica and World music.
