South Social meets Tunisia

22 September '18 at 6:30 pm - 22 August '18 at 10:30 pm

One of the most intriguing areas in North Africa is the Maghreb. It includes 3 countries: Algeria, Morocco and Tunisia. The beauty of the landscape, the incredible heritage of the cities and of the population, makes it the perfect background for a riveting cinema.

On Saturday 22nd September we are going to focus on TUNISIA, one of the first African countries to produce cinema in the 20s and also to win the Palme d’or in Cannes in 2013 with Blue is the warmest colour by Abdellatif Kechich.

OF SKIN AND MEN (L’AMOUR DES HOMMES) by Medhi Ben Attias
Tunis, today. Amel (Hafsia Herzi), a young photographer, has just lost her husband Nabil in an accident. Her happiness, living with her beloved husband in a beautiful family apartment, has turned to grief. Her father-in-law, Taïeb, encourages her to re-engage herself in her photography and she begins shooting a series of erotic scenes of male. Amel truly immerses herself in her work – she’s fearless and unafraid of scandal and chooses to look at men in the same way as men look at women. Nevertheless, she’s troubled by Rabah, one of ‘the men of the street’, while she finds Sami, a young intellectual and co-worker, quite seductive. Meanwhil
