Calling all mixed Arab British!
The Imaginarium Postcard Project founded and curated by mixed race Egyptian British artist and art historian Salma Ahmad Caller is collaborating with Dr Chamion Caballero of The Mixed Museum to explore mixed Arab/North African British couples, families, stories and histories. The Mixed Museum is a digital museum and archive that contributes to widening knowledge about Black and ethnic minority British history through sharing and preserving the social history of racial mixing in Britain for future generations.
They’re looking for people to be part of the online exhibition and workshops happening this September – sharing your mixed race stories, family photos, heritage and how it feels to be both Arab and English, or Arab and Welsh, or North African and Irish or whatever amazing mix of MENA region and the UK you or your family are. We want to hear these rich stories that make up Arab British society.
To find out more information and express interest, please contact Salma Ahmad Caller on salmacaller@googlemail.com or send her a message on Instagram.
The Postcard Imaginarium Exhibition and surrounding events are supported by Arts Council England and are in partnership with The Mixed Museum, The Arab British Centre and the Zay Initiative.
