Amerah Saleh, a Yemeni spoken word artist based in Birmingham, will lead this workshop dedicated to socially engaged artistic practice and participatory and collaborative outreach work.

Amerah’s own outreach work focuses on empowering young people, a group whose voices are not often heard in public discourse. Through her organisation, Creative Superheroes, she has developed and supported young artists in Birmingham, allowing them to gain work and commissions.

She will demonstrate the importance of engaging with local communities, individuals and groups and examine how this kind of work can inform and develop an artist’s own creative practice and thinking, whilst allowing participants to realise their creative potential.

Artist Development workshops curator : Laura Rakotonirina

Workshop Fee: £11.07. Buy your tickets here
